We Refresh Gwinnett Kitchens Without a Costly Remodel
A full kitchen remodel costs five figures and takes weeks of your life. Cabinet refinishing gets you most of the visual payoff — a brighter, more modern kitchen that looks like it was just installed — at a fraction of the price and in a fraction of the time.
What's Included in Our Cabinet Painting & Refinishing Service
Cabinet refinishing is precision work. It's not the same as painting a wall — cabinets get touched every day, splashed with cooking grease, opened and closed thousands of times a year, and need a finish that stands up to all of it. The process takes longer and costs more per square foot than wall painting for a reason.

What Makes Our Cabinet Work Different
Cabinet Painting Problems We Fix Every Day
-
"My painted cabinets from another company are already peeling."
This is the #1 cabinet complaint we hear, and it always traces back to the same culprits — no degreasing, no sanding, and no bonding primer. Our full prep process is specifically designed to prevent peeling.
-
"The paint is chipping off the edges where doors close."
Cabinet edges take constant contact. Without the right primer and a durable cabinet-grade topcoat, paint chips off those high-contact areas in months. We use products specifically engineered for cabinet durability.
-
"I can see brush marks everywhere."
Brushed cabinet finishes don't look good — period. Professional cabinet work is sprayed for a reason. Every project we do is spray-finished unless the customer specifically requests a different approach.
-
"The color looks uneven in different light."
Uneven color usually means uneven coats, uneven primer, or paint that wasn't properly mixed. Our multi-coat process with proper cure time between coats creates consistent color throughout.
-
"My cabinets feel sticky even weeks after painting."
Sticky cabinets mean the paint didn't fully cure — usually because the wrong product was used (wall paint instead of cabinet paint) or the painter rushed between coats. Cabinet-grade lacquers and enamels cure to a hard, non-tacky finish when applied correctly.
-
"I can still see the old wood grain showing through."
If you don't want wood grain visible on the finished cabinets, we use a grain-filling primer and a spray application that levels smoothly. If you like the grain showing through (for a cleaner, more organic look), we can preserve it too.
-
"The inside of my cabinets wasn't painted and now it looks weird."
Cabinet interiors are optional — sometimes painted, sometimes left natural, depending on style and budget. We'll talk through the options and price both.
Why Homeowners Choose Mena's Quality Painting for Their Cabinets
Cabinet work is harder than wall work, and it's easy for companies that don't specialize in it to cut corners. That's why we take it seriously.
Mena's Quality Painting is a family-owned company that's been doing interior, exterior, and cabinet work across Gwinnett for over a decade. Our team is small and consistent — the same people sanding and spraying your cabinets are people with years of cabinet-specific experience. We're not learning on your kitchen.
Every cabinet project is backed by our 3-year labor warranty in writing. PCA and NAHICA members, Best of Gwinnett recipients, fully insured, zero subcontractors.
No Subcontractors — Ever
The crew painting your home is our crew. Not a third-party contractor. Not a day-labor fill-in. Our team, on every job, every time. That's how we guarantee quality.
Communication That Doesn't DIssapear
You'll know what's happening and when. From your first quote to the final walkthrough, you'll have a direct line to us — not a call center.

OUR PROCESS: How a Cabinet Refinishing Project Works
-
In-Home Estimate
We come out, take detailed measurements, count doors and drawers, evaluate the current finish, and talk through color options.
-
Written quote
Line-itemed estimate covering prep, products, number of coats, hardware handling, and timeline. Cabinet pricing is typically quoted per door/drawer plus linear footage of boxes.
-
Scheduling and color confirmation
Once approved, we lock your dates, order paint, and confirm the color with a sample.
-
Hardware and door removal
All doors, drawer fronts, and hardware are removed and labeled. Doors are taken to our workspace for spraying off-site (reduces mess and speeds up drying).
-
Kitchen containment and prep
The kitchen work area is fully contained with plastic sheeting to protect floors, countertops, and adjacent rooms from dust and overspray.
-
Degreasing and cleaning
Every surface thoroughly degreased to remove cooking residue.
-
Sanding
All surfaces sanded to create a bondable base. Dust removed completely.
-
Bonding primer
Spray application of bonding primer on all surfaces.
-
Sanding between coats
Light sanding between primer and each paint coat for smoothness.
-
First and second paint coats
Spray application in thin, even coats. Proper dry time between.
-
Third coat if needed
Dark-to-light color changes or high-traffic kitchens often benefit from a third coat.
-
Reinstall doors and hardware
Once fully dried, we rehang every door, reinstall every drawer front, and put back (or install new) hardware.
-
Walkthrough and care instructions
We walk through the finished kitchen with you, touch up anything needed, and explain how to treat the cabinets during the cure period.
Peace of Mind — Our 3-Year Cabinet Warranty
Cabinets live with constant use, so cabinet warranty means something specific: we're guaranteeing that how we prepped, primed, and painted your cabinets will hold up to normal use for three full years.
If our cabinet work fails within that window due to our workmanship — peeling, chipping at properly-cured edges, or coating that didn't bond — we come back and repair it at no cost. Simple as that.
Normal wear (scratches from sliding objects, dings from dropped pans, sun fading on cabinets near large windows) is standard for any painted finish and falls outside the warranty. We'll walk through what's covered and what isn't when we deliver your paperwork.
